As a result of Chris's research, we dedicated much of our system to seaberries (sea buckthorn— hippophae rhamnoides) which then led us ultimately to form Vermont Seaberry Company (https://vermontseaberrycompany.com).
We became one of the first farms in Northeastern US to grow seaberry in large quantity, and we continue to discover new applications, benefits and uses for the plant. Throughout the time working with Chris, he was always professional, deeply knowledgeable, and generous in sharing information. I wouldn’t hesitate to work with him again—indeed I would seek out opportunities to do so. I witnessed his thoughtful leadership relative to planting crews, and his deep connection and capacity to “listen" to the land, and above all, to embody the nature of the work in his life.
